My Work
There is some irony behind my writing. I didn’t know I could. Why did I start writing? I needed to purge some horrific memories. I couldn’t move on. Professionals told me to purge the head and write it down, so I did. Once the manuscript was read, I was advised it needs to be published because it is an incredible story and very well written. With that, Uphill emerged.
The premise of Uphill is to keep going no matter how bad things get. Then feedback started coming in and I was moved. Having your first book be nominated for a writer’s award is a remarkable achievement. Readers couldn’t put it down.
I was then told my writing style would create a good thriller, so Biological Deception was written, which is based on an experience several years ago and current events. I am inspired because people enjoy the writings but also because it is very therapeutic.
My Community
Publishing Uphill gave me confidence again to open up. We all have stories. I am shocked and surprised at some of them (none of us have perfect lives) but opening up about my life gives them courage to open up to a stranger about theirs.
Believe me, having someone who will listen is incredibly rare but immensely beneficial. Listening also helps me to understand I am not alone. I do answer questions and give advice. Friends call me often.
I will make the disclaimer though that I am not a trained psychologist. However, life experiences sometimes far outweigh anything learned in college. This applies to a lot of fields, not just psychology.

I admit this is all new to me. Writing and publishing is a brand-new field that I intend to become actively involved in. However, this will be a huge learning curve as I go along.
